Biosketch:

Nancy is a health care professional with nearly 30 years experience in health care services in Ontario, ranging from acute care during the earliest years of her career, through home care, private sector health care management, long term care facility, public health and most recently regionalized health planning and accountability through Ontario's Local Health Integration Networks. For the four years prior to her appointment with the South East LHIN, Nancy was an independent healthcare management consultant providing health system and service consulting services to senior managers in both the public and private sectors at the local, provincial, national and international level. Her consulting projects ranged from the development of an HIV/AIDs educations model for nurses and lay care providers in a Caribbean country through development of a preceptorship program for nurses in long-term care facilities to advising on a national home care program. Prior to that, Nancy was the CEO of a Community Care Access Centre. Nancy has also held appointments as an assistant professor (adjunct) in the Departments of Family Medicine and Nursing at Queen?s University. She was a member and Vice-Chair of a District Health Council where she served on many committees, including a term as Chair of their Mental Health Services Committee. She is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Services Executives.

Nancy's academic qualifications include a PhD in Health Administration specializing in Health System Organization and Management from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, Department of Health Policy, Management & Evaluation. Her doctoral research was a first of its kind study measuring and describing adverse events in home care patients in Ontario. She also holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science from Queen's University.
