Originally trained as an engineer, Jeff worked in rehabilitation technology for several years before returning to grad school, completing his PhD in Health Studies and Gerontology at the University of Waterloo in 2006. Working with Dr. John Hirdes since 2000, he has been engaged in work related to the interRAI standardized assessment instruments. His present position is Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Health Studies at the University of Waterloo. His research interests include case mix systems, quality indicators, outcome measures, and decision support algorithms as they can be applied to frail older adults in community and residential settings.
